Can We Apply The Same Standards For Women and Men in the Marketplace?
We are bombarded by a lot of the hotshot successful business entrepreneur speakers, most of whom are men. And what is common in all their messages? Grind, be consistent, push, increase your prices, get better at what you do, etc. Until I came across a thought that women and men cannot play the same. We are just wired differently. It is therefore unfair for us to be judged in the same way. For years, I have been feeling that there must be something wrong with me. Why can't I grind, be consistent, push, ask for better prices, and be confident in my knowledge and skills? This has led me to feel inadequate, do even less, pivot endlessly, and procrastinate to the death of many of my dreams that would have been. I have reached the point of burnout. I now want to do what I want to do, not what I have to do. Yes, I know that may not always be good enough.
